ET: I'm getting much better with the descendings. I'm using the tests not only as a way to measure my progress, but also to train my ears with some of the more difficult intervals. I had previously had trouble with major and minor 6ths. They sounded like dive-bombs to me. Now I'm beginning to hear them as cleary as I do the ascending version. I still have some work to do, but the raw materials are there.

With my ATTYA studies I've been playing along with the metronome as well as a couple of recordings for the past couple of days: Gerry Mulligan & Paul Desmond, Stand Getz & Chet Baker, Bill Evans & Eddie Gomez, as well as the Pat Martino Band version. They are all pretty fast clips of the tune and it's a workout to stick with them. It's helping though. I'm not quite sure what's going to happen, but I'm closer to seeing the form from a bigger sense. It's something about the way I'm visualizing the changes or hearing them. Something's changing.

One thing that hasn't changed is that I get tired and lost while playing through the recordings. Part of it is physical and part of it is mental. I still think it's hard enough that my brain gets a little bit tired as I'm playing.
